Awards
We are delighted to offer the following awards at Biomag 2024 Conference. Award applications are to be submitted as part of the abstract submission form, and the same deadline applies. Please see the awards guidelines below:
Student awards: $500 x 3
250-word statement + CV (CV limit 2 pages)
Criteria:
In addition to the abstract, a self-statement no longer than 250 words should be submitted, plus a full CV (CV limit 2 pages) of the candidate.
Submissions will be reviewed and scored by the Awards Committee, according to the criteria:
- Scientific contribution.
- Quality and innovation.
- Motivation and competences of the candidate.
- Open data science contribution.
Prize winner:
Based on the submissions, ten finalists will be selected to give 10-minute oral presentations in a dedicated session at the Biomag 2024. Based on the talks in this session, the three winners will be selected by the Awards Committee, according to the criteria for the submissions plus the quality of their oral presentations. The winners will be announced during the conference. The winners will receive $500 each.

ECR awards: $1000 x 3
250-word statement + CV (CV limit 2 pages)
Criteria:
ECR as per NHMRC definition. An early-career researcher is defined as an individual who is within five years post PhD (i.e. within five years of their PhD award date), excluding career disruptions.
In addition to the abstract, a self-statement no longer than 250 words should be submitted, plus a full CV (CV limit is 2 pages) of the candidate.
Submissions will be reviewed and scored by the Awards Committee, according to the criteria:
- Scientific contribution.
- Quality and innovation.
- Motivation and competences of the candidate.
- Open data science contribution.

250-word statement + CV (CV limit 4 pages, list your top 10 publications only) + 2 letters of support
Criteria:
MCR as per NHMRC definition. A mid-career researcher is defined as an individual who is between five and ten years post PhD (i.e. between five and ten years of their PhD award date), excluding career disruptions.
In addition to the abstract, a self-statement no longer than 250 words should be submitted, plus a full CV (CV limit is 4 pages) of the candidate, plus 2 letters of support.
Submissions will be reviewed and scored by the awards committee, according to the criteria:
- Scientific contribution.
- Quality and innovation.
- Motivation and competences of the candidate.
- Open data science contribution.
Prize winner:
The winner will be selected by the Award Committee according to the criteria for the submissions. The winners will be announced during the conference. The winner will receive $1000.
