CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The Organising Committee invites the submission of Symposium Proposals and Oral and Poster Abstracts in the 23rd International Conference on Biomagnetism (BIOMAG) which will take place in Sydney, Australia on 26-29 August 2024. Don’t miss your opportunity to share your knowledge and research at the BIOMAG Conference 2024. Submit your proposal today for consideration in the Conference program. Possible themes are suggested below; however, any theme that fits within the scope of Biomag will be considered:
- Developmental
- Clinical
- Epilepsy
- Cognition
- Language
- Data analysis / informatics
- OPM sensors
- MCG
- Cross-modal recordings
- Neuromodulation.

- Submissions Open – Symposium Proposals & Data Analysis Competition Organisers – 1 September 2023
- Abstract Open – Oral & Poster Presentations – 1 November 2023
- Submissions Close – Data Analysis Competition Organisers – 15 November 2023
- Submissions Close – Symposium Proposals – 25 March 2024
- Symposium Proposals Notification – 26 April 2024
- Abstracts deadline extended – Oral & Poster Presentations – 3 May 2024
- Abstract notification to author – 20 May 2024
Symposium proposal submission outline:
- The nominated chair of the symposium session will be responsible for collating and submitting all materials for the session and for all communication with the conference organisers.
- The submission must include a description of the symposium and the target audience, as well as names, contact details and short biographies of all presenters in the session.
- Each symposium will be allocated approximately 90 minutes and should involve the Chair plus a maximum of four presenters.
- Symposium proposals that include speakers from varied institutions and a range of experience (early career to senior) and professional expertise will be prioritised.
- All presenters and chairs must register to attend the conference by the Early Bird Registration Deadline, otherwise the symposium will be withdrawn from the program.
Abstract proposal submission guidelines:
- Written in English and must not exceed 250 words.
- Limit of 2 submissions as primary author; submitting author must be the person who will be presenting the paper at the conference.
- We encourage submission of original work which have not previously been presented or published.
- Please indicate your preferred presentation format (see below). We will do our best to accommodate your preference within the conference program but please note this cannot be guaranteed:
- Oral presentation: 10 mins talk + 5 mins for questions
- Poster presentation with a 3-min lightning talk
- Poster only
- All presenters must register to attend the conference by the Early Bird Registration deadline, otherwise the presentation will be withdrawn from the program.
Abstracts accepted for presentation will be published in the conference proceedings. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make editorial corrections to submitted abstracts.
