When exhibiting you are supporting a carbon neutral event
Towards a Sustainable Conference
We are aware of the impacts of climate change and are endeavouring to make BIOMAG 2024 a carbon neutral and sustainable event.
We encourage all sponsors, exhibitors, providers and delegates to support this endeavour.
Please be mindful of our planet and join us in our efforts to neutralise the carbon footprint and leave a positive impact. BIOMAG 2024 will be sustainable by minimising paper consumption and waste through use of technology.
At BIOMAG expect:
- Maximum use will be made of electronic displays and banners.
- Existing banners and signs should be reused. New freestanding banners, pull up banners and heritage exposition signs, including fascia signs, will use sustainable materials and inks.
- Gifts provided by sponsors/exhibitors will be sustainable, locally sourced, and preferably produced by aboriginal or torres strait islander people.
- Catered meals will feature re-usable or non-plastic crockery, cutlery etc and /or compostable materials.
- Food and beverages will be locally sourced.
- Preference will be given to aboriginal or torres strait islander suppliers.
- Consumables should be minimised but where they are used, we ask our sponsors, exhibitors, providers and delegates to use non-plastic recyclable materials, unbleached bamboo or paper, organic fabrics, and organic inks.
- BIOMAG will encourage attendees to purchase airline carbon offsets, use public transport, and to bring their own reusable cups or bottles for water, which will be complimentary and readily available.
Sustainable Exhibitions
We encourage you to think sustainably when planning and executing your BIOMAG exhibition display. We’ve formulated some actions you can take to make a conscious effort to reduce your exhibition impact.
a) Talk to your stand constructor about using sustainable materials and what they can do to reduce waste |
b) Order sustainable food options for your stand catering (i.e. regional, organic, plant-based, vegetarian, waterwise) |
c) Reduce or remove all single-use plastics and paper, including brochures |
d) Offer sustainable gifts and giveaways and use local suppliers |
e) Travel responsibly: carbon offset your team’s travel to the show |
f) Use reusable, recyclable or biodegradable packaging when shipping to the venue |
g) Opt for a eco-friendly business card alternative |
